Summer Internship

Aimee Petkus, metalsmith and geologist, is accepting applications for a holiday intern at Aimee Petkus Jewelry in Philadelphia, PA.  Applicants need to possess basic metalsmithing skills as well as organizational, office and computer skills. It is also imperative that the applicants are personable and trustworthy.  The intern will be learning about all aspects of the studio, fine craft shows, and running a business.  The internship will include designing and making jewelry (fabrication, casting, lapidary), working with customers, as well as the behind the scenes aspects of running a jewelry business, such as applying to shows, managing a schedule, mailings, e-commerce, show setup/teardown, etc.

Aimee Petkus Jewelry is a unique studio that diversifies how jewelry is sold; therefore, each day is fun, busy, and exciting. 

​

The intern is expected to work 20-30 hours a week.  The hours are flexible but will include some nights and weekends.

Compensation for this internship will consist of an intimate hands-on knowledge of operations, studio facilities, and possible credits from institution (dependent on school requirements). There is also opportunity for bonuses depending on your production speed/skill level.
